Senior Consultant

One of the key differentiators for Margie Kensil when she walks into a classroom is her experience on both sides of the buyer-seller desk. This real-world experience helps SM&H clients separate and embed the “critical few” activities and behaviors from the “trivial many” in terms of sales and sales management success.

From keeping passengers safe as a senior flight attendant, to her role as a training and consulting executive for two major banks, or as a consultant for The Hayes Group International, Margie’s life’s work has always centered around helping people change their lives and accomplish their goals by changing their behavior. During her tenure with Omega Performance, Margie served on the Senior Leadership team, and was responsible for supporting operations and sales on the African continent and beyond. These experiences taught her the criticality of helping people know “what good looks like” no matter who or where they are, and supporting them to to make these desired changes reality.

As a Senior Consultant with SM&H for nearly seven years, Margie is often requested as a classroom facilitator and coach for both large international banks such as BBVA Compass and Santander and community-based organizations such as Republic Bank and First Federal of Washington. Her expertise lies in commercial sales, sales management, personal coaching and leadership development. Here’s what one student suggested:

Margie holds a BS in Education from Campbell University and an MS in Vocational/Technical Education from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, with continuing studies completed at the University of Michigan’s Executive Management Program.

Margie also earned certifications in several leadership and behavioral assessment instruments, including Myers-Briggs Type Indicator ® Step II Practitioner, various Lominger employee development tools, and the 360 assessments from PDI Ninth House and Zenger-Folkman.
